Get an API key

API keys are issued by Kelp SSO (better-auth apiKey plugin, prefix kelp_). Create one in Dashboard → API keys — the raw key is shown exactly once, so store it before leaving the page.

On-demand purchasing requires a company account with permissions: { content: ["read"], licensing: ["purchase"] }. list_datasets and estimate_training_set work without a key.

Point your MCP client at the server

Add the server to your MCP client's HTTP config:

Auth is the x-api-key header (SSE job streams also accept ?api_key=).

Try it

  1. estimate_training_set — { type: "image", quantity: 8, keyword: "Windsurfing" } returns a quote with per-asset pricing; quotes expire in ~1 hour.
  2. buy_dataset — with a dataset slug from the catalog — buys the set outright; free sets settle instantly, paid sets return a Stripe paymentUrl.
  3. confirm_training_set with the quote id — the buyer email is taken from your API key's account, and the packaging job is queued.
  4. Pay the Stripe paymentUrl — the SSE stream reports settlement.
  5. get_training_set — returns a 1-hour presigned tarball with LICENSE.md and signed per-asset manifests.
