How this verification works
- Fail-closed. All five checks must pass for a "Verified" result. Any failure, timeout, or unreachable key shows FAILED — a tampered proof can never earn a Verified badge.
- One trust anchor. The Ed25519 public key resolves from a public DNS TXT record (
_seal.<issuer-domain>via DNS-over-HTTPS) — no CA trust lists, no validator discretion. - Runs in your browser. Hash, signature, and SEAL checks execute client-side via SEAL-JS. No server decides the outcome.
- Scope. A verified manifest proves the recorded content hash, license terms, and issuer signature are intact. It does not assert anything about post-capture edits to the image itself — capture authenticity is carried by the asset's verification tier (EXIF / challenge / PRNU sensor fingerprint).
